Two Kinds of Embossing - Tipos Diferentes de Relevo

After embossing the orange cardstock, I cut it into three sections and taped them to a purple matting. To finish it, I die-cut a heat embossed flower and added some pearls. Done.

Some samples of embossed cards. Embossing folders give the cards a professional look and their use is so versatile. I'll certainly buy some more.

Stamping Nature - Carimbando a Natureza

 Nature stamps. Here are two samples of a landscape and a tree. I used chalk to color the background of the stamps after die-cutting. To give an even more natural look to the second card, I cut a strip of corrugated cardboard and added a ribbon to its center.

These two cards were made with a botanical and a Tim Holts kit. I also used embossing folders, die-cutting, ribbons, punches, and buttons. 

Impressabilities and Flowers

Impressabilities - a new dimension to the paper. I used it to make the background of this card and added a small embossed rectangle, brads, ribbons, punched leaves, a diecut flower, and a pearl. As easy as that.

Punched Butterflies - Borboletas Perfuradas

I've been working with the impressabilities and the embossing powders I just bought. Here are two cards I made using those two elements and adding punched butterflies and flowers. The extra touch is given by the small rhinestones I added to the flowers.

Corrugated Cardboard Note Pad - Bloco de Anotações de Papelão

Recycling corrugated cardboard is so gratifying. Here are two samples of note pads. The paper inside is also recycled from scrap.

Shopping Organizer - Organizador de Compras

Here's a shopping organizer idealized by Laura, followthepapertrail. It's so simple to make and the result is so neat. There's room for writing a shopping list and pockets for receipts. You can alternatively use it to keep the recipes you are particularly interested in.

An Album for a Baby Girl - Álbum para uma Bebezinha

Julia is born. Here's my gift for her on her Baptism day. I made this album in pink paper and matted with lavanda and yellow. Butterflies and frames give it some dimensional effect. Each page is a pocket for Clarissa , Julia's mom, to add some photos.

May your life, Julia, be filled with love, happiness, and health.

Nasceu a Julia. Aqui está meu presente no dia de seu batizado. O álbum foi feito com papel rosa e adereços em lavanda e amarelo. Borboletas e molduras dão um efeito tridimensional. Cada página é um bolso para que a Clarissa, mãe da Julia, adicione novas fotos.

A Canvas Album - Álbum em Lona Crua

Here's the canvas album I just finished. It took me some time, for I had to cut the canvas, sew two pieces together to make pockets, and add lots of embellishments. The final vintage, Provence look was worth the effort. The canvas was a window panel hung in the apartment I lived when I got married. I suddenly came across it and thought of the need to recycle it.

On the first page, I stamped a letter and added a felt flower and a ribbon. Pearls and dried leaves gave it the final touch.

Aqui está o álbum em lona crua que acabei de fazer. Deu um pouco de trabalho recortar, costurar duas partes para formar bolsos e acrescentar os detalhes. A aparência vintage e provençal valeu o esforço. Essa lona era um painel da janela do apartamento onde morava quando me casei. Me deparei com ela guardada e resolvi reciclá-la.

Na primeira página, carimbei uma carta e adicionei uma flor em feltro com uma fita. As pérolas e as folhas desidratadas deram o toque final.

On page 2, I stamped and glimmermisted the designs. I used a lace at the bottom, a pin with an angel charm, some buttons, and a mat for the photo.

Na página 2, carimbei e passei verniz com glitter. Usei uma renda, um grampo com pingente de anjo, alguns botões e a base para uma foto.

Page 4 has some glimmermisted stamps, ric-rac, lace, and a feathered butterfly.

A página 4 tem carimboas com verniz, sianinha,  renda e uma borboleta feita com pena.

On page 5, I followed the same technique and added a prima flower and a die-cut bird.

Na página 5, usei a mesma técnica e acrescentei um flor em papel e um recorte de pássaro.

Inside the pockets, I can put some tags made of canvas. I sewed them with a piece of cardboard inside to make them stiff.

Clara's favorite hobby is drawing and making projects. She used to draw interesting things on scraps and they ended up in the trash can. So, here's an album where she can express and save her talent.

Thica is a cockatiel - Clara's pet. She insisted that I make an album for her, so here it is.

Thica é uma calopsita - o animal de estimação da Clara. Depois de insistir muito, a Clara finalmente me convenceu de que a Thica merecia um álbum.

Cardboard Album - Álbum de Papelão

This is my first cardboard album. I'm happy with the distressed look I could get. I was also happy with the idea of recycling.

I used die-cut swirls, a die-cut frame, a prima flower, metal petals, charms, and ribbons for the cover.

Meu primeiro álbum feito com papelão rasgado e pintado com tinta pva. Gostei da aparência desgastada e da ideia de reciclar o material. Para a capa usei um arabesco recortado em papel paraná e estampado, um recorte para a moldura pintado em prata, uma flor de papel, pétalas e pingentes em metal e fitas.

Sea World, Orlando

 In January 2011, Andréa, Clara, and I went to Orlando on vacation. We all had a great time there. Clara is an animal fan and loved going to Sea World. She was fascinated by the whales, dolphins, sharks, eels, penguins, rays, polar bears, sea lions,and walruses. Needless to say she loved Shamu the most.

Here's the album I made to keep our memories. I used chipboard and design paper, cut with my sizzix border so as to give the impression of waves.
